'Tis the Season for PR Campaigns

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! With Halloween in the past and November underway, the holiday season has officially begun. With the early announcements of Black Friday’s best deals are released, everyone creates their dream gift list. These campaigns should be taken into account as it allows people to draw inspiration for people to determine what is on their own wishlist. Brands use this time to generate creative ideas for campaigns to highlight new products, sales, or general promotions.  Here are some of my favorite brand campaigns!

Urban Outfitters LOLidays Campaign

The “Happy LOLidays” campaign launched on social media, specifically on TikTok on Oct. 24, allowing Urban Outfitters to engage with their target audience on a platform they enjoy. Co-influencers participated in a dance challenge to the “UO Carol” that led to a giveaway in which five lucky winners received a $1,000 UO gift card. This campaign inspired holiday cheer by encouraging maximum target audience engagement.

Walmart’s Nostalgic Gift-Giving Ad

Walmart has been known to create campaigns that include relatable and entertaining pop culture references. For this year’s holiday season, Walmart incorporated memorable moments from Spongebob, Despicable Me, and even Gilmore Girls when showing customers the Give Gifts That Show You Love Them campaign. By highlighting the nostalgia of gift-giving moments loved by all, this campaign solidifies Walmart as a key candidate where families can buy gifts.

Etsy’s Where’s Waldo Feature

For Etsy's holiday campaign, the brand has spotlighted Waldo--a beloved character who travels the world and positively represents Etsy's values. This campaign insinuates that no matter where Waldo goes, everyone stands a chance at finding him, the same way they have the chance of finding the perfect gift on Etsy.

While taking a look at these three different campaigns, they share one thing in common: the holidays are the most wonderful time of the year. These campaigns offer both gift ideas to the audience and chances to participate in the campaigns themselves. As you count down the days until you are opening your presents, keep an eye out for these festive campaigns!
