Girls on the Run

After a few weeks of preparing and learning the ropes within the GrandPR firm, our team completed our first project for Girls on the Run, an organization directed to inspire young girls to find their strengths, build confidence and recognize their power. GOTR is offered throughout the United States with a network of over 200 councils. Our team was given the opportunity to work with the Kent County council program that served over 2,005 Kent County girls last spring and continues to positively empower the lives of young girls.

‘We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.’

As stated in the GOTR mission statement above, the coaches and councils members are confident, that after being a part of the 20-lesson curriculum, the girls will develop self-confidence, definition of character, positive connections with other peers and adults, as well as how to make a meaningful contribution to community and society. Each session teaches life skills through fun engaging lessons that celebrate the joy of movement and at the end of the season each girl will complete a 5K running event, showcasing their ability to achieve life goals and make the impossible, possible.

The skills and achievements the girls create over a 10-week period wouldn’t be possible with the help and support of sponsors. Through the sponsorship program there are a multitude of ways for organizations and/or individuals to get involved. The sponsorships vary from supporting an entire team, an individual girl, or even supplying proper running shoes and healthy snacks. Every dollar and hour of dedication helps this organization succeed.

Our team, consisting of Account Executive Jailyn Glass, Account Associate Erica Douglas and myself collaborated with the director of GOTR Kent County to create a new sponsorship packet for the upcoming season. The council director of GOTR was looking for a more engaging and fun packet filled with photos of the young girls who express joy, optimism, and gratitude. Our team was able to research, write, organize, and design components within the sponsorship packet. The GrandPR Creative Director, Alexianna Mundy, compiled our ideas and layout into a stunning completed packet. Our team is pleased with the outcome of our first project and hope to continue working with Girls on the Run Kent County in the near future. Learn. Dream. Live. Run.
