Graduation "To Dos"

After five struggling years, I am set to graduate in a couple months. Finally! Now all is good and well with graduating, but this is also one of the most stressful times of my young life. No longer am I applying for internships or part-time jobs behind a bar, but my actual career.  Now that's terrifying.

But this is not about my fear of growing up, but more so a final semester preview which will most likely serve as both a to-do list and a list of goals. So here we go.

FIND A JOB
My top priority of the semester is to locate, and more importantly, secure gainful employment. Now I know people don't get their dream job right out of college more often than not, but I am keeping my fingers crossed. So begins the great debate, whether to stick to my strong PR background or branch into my more ideal world of advertising.

Grow my brand
I am pretty sure my above statement is cliché, but that's okay because it’s something I have to do. As someone who is fairly new to this world (two years of advertising/public relations experience), I am just starting to find my role in this industry. One thing I have learned is that standing out in this world is key, my personal brand has got to be something that grabs attention and keeps it *cough cough* check my website.

Network
I suppose this could go under both "grow my brand" and "FIND A JOB". But, I have decided to give it its own section. Networking is uncomfortable and weird and I dislike it. Yet, I understand that your best jobs aren't going to be found on some website somewhere, it’s going to come from a positive human interaction.

Creative proficiency
That's my fancy way of saying I need to practice more in the creative suite and other creative outlets to hone my skills.

School
School is still in session so this goes without saying, but I am going to say it anyways, I have to keep up on class. Despite “senioritis” being in full swing, school must and will remain a top priority in my life. In the words of DJ Khaled, “Stay Focused”.

I have a pretty full slate this semester and it’s going to be stressful, but nonetheless I am excited and ready to take this head on.
