From the CEO: Midterm Motivation
Welcome back to a new year, Lakers! As October rolls around (where did September go?!) I wanted to remind our staff why they are here. Midterm week is coming up --sooner than you anticipated, I’m sure-- and I’m right there with you when wanting to know who decided group projects were a good idea.
The semester is probably feeling like a lot right now, and that’s okay. You were picked for this organization because of your unique experiences and expertise. As the work load piles up and stress level peak, remember that GrandPR is what you make of it. You aren’t going to have an amazing experience if you don’t put in any effort.
GrandPR is your opportunity to do great work. It might just be writing another press release or social media post to you, but for your client, you are working magic! The work that you're doing really does matter. Remember some of the reasons you are here:
To make a difference
Many of our clients are nonprofit organizations or small, local business that need our services to thrive.
To learn, apply, and grow
Learn PR strategies and tactics in the classroom, apply them to our clients, and grow your strengths and weaknesses. It’s okay to make mistakes right now if you are honestly trying your best.
Have fun
We have a great group of students on staff this year. Network with them! At our meetings, you'll soon hear about the amazing work that each other are doing in your work and internships. This is the next generation of PR professionals and you'll likely be working together in some capacity again. Get to know each other!
Lastly, I'd like to thank all of our clients that we have this semester. A complete list can be found on our website.
Cheers to a great start of the new school year,
