Fitness classes, health coaching, personal training, corporate wellness, and more. Lacey Peters built her business with her people skills, drawing from her bubbly personality and kind heart. Lacey shares her journey to success for this episode of PR Hangover, discussing how she’s utilized social media, a marketing job, and the inspiration of her clients along the way.

It’s All About Personality

My first impression of Lacey was that she’s so nice. What better way to gain clientele than being an approachable person? In the podcast, Lacey explains her use of people skills in order to maintain relationships with her clients – and it’s worked! Reviews on her Facebook Page attest to the passion and energy she brings to each class that motivates others to be their best selves. She says she uses her energy to make an impact on her clients’ lifestyles and she’s always available to chat about what will work best for each individual.

Lacey makes sure to maintain her image because the way in which she represents herself is critical- since she is selling herself to her clients. But, she wants to keep it real with them. She likes to post even when she has an off day, or chows down on a cheeseburger, to ensure the image she portrays is realistic and accountable for her audience.

Finding the Perfect Fit

Lacey also discusses how her previous experience at the Niles-Buchanan YMCA helped her learn how to run her own business. She jumped back and forth between positions of instructing, marketing, and leading her own classes. She learned that having the right venue is important for a fitness business. Lacey’s current setup is on the second floor of The Grand LV, a downtown Niles building that her friends have been renovating. The space is spectacular, with a large open room, a stage, and beautiful high ceilings. She didn’t do much to change the look of her studio because she immediately fell in love with the rustic vibe it gives off. Lacey likes to keep the windows open, allowing for natural light and air. You can even hear a local business owner’s dog barking in the background of the podcast. The Niles building is in a bustling area with cute shops and local restaurants.

Motivation Through Social

The Wellness WoRx Facebook and Instagram pages are how Lacey keeps her clients updated about new classes, schedules, and events. However, she also makes sure to post motivating and inspirational content for her clients. Accountability is very important when it comes to fitness, so Lacey feels that reminding her clients on social media can be helpful for them. They’ll see her posts, be reminded of their goals, and ask her for help. With client permission, she’ll share transformation photos and encourage others to make a change. Her process is to use fun fonts and pictures that catch her viewers’ eyes instead of just posting basic text. She keeps her voice online in symmetry with her voice in the studio: uplifting and friendly.
